Privacy Policy

Introduction

FixLane (“FixLane”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates a mobile application and website that connects vehicle owners and drivers in the Greater Toronto Area who need roadside assistance (such as flat tires, dead batteries, towing, fuel delivery, or oil changes) with independent, verified service providers. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

Account information: name, email address, phone number, and password when you create a driver or provider account.

Location data: your device’s GPS location when you submit or respond to a roadside assistance request, so we can match drivers with nearby providers.

Vehicle and request details: vehicle type, description of the issue, and photos you choose to submit with a request.

Provider verification information: for service providers, we collect identity documents (such as a driver’s licence), proof of business or towing certification, and photos submitted during sign-up so our team can review and approve provider accounts.

Payment information: payment card details are collected and processed directly by our payment processor, Stripe. FixLane does not store your full card number.

Usage data: device type, app version, and general usage information collected automatically to help us maintain and improve the service.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information above to: match drivers with nearby available providers; facilitate communication between drivers and providers for a specific request; verify provider identity and qualifications before approving an account; process payments and platform fees; provide customer support; and maintain the safety, security, and reliability of the FixLane platform.

Sharing of Information

When you submit a roadside assistance request, relevant details (such as your general location, vehicle issue, and contact phone number) are shared with the service provider who accepts your request, so they can reach you. Provider profile information is likewise visible to the driver they are matched with. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share limited information with service providers who help us operate FixLane, such as our payment processor (Stripe) and cloud hosting and database providers, solely to provide the service.

Data Retention

We retain account and request information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward as needed to resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and maintain business records.

Your Rights and Choices

You may access, update, or request deletion of your account information by contacting us at the email below. You can also control location permissions at any time through your device settings, though disabling location access will limit FixLane’s ability to match you with nearby providers.

Children’s Privacy

FixLane is not directed to individuals under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page with an updated effective date.
